Ciao, ciao,ciao from Firenze:

We Italians use ciao multiple times.  Not sure why, but it seems to rhyme.

Last night a wonderful dinner at the same ristorante as Sabato (Saturday).  Great food and getting to know them quite well.  They love us…cannot imagine why they would not.  Mom kept me up late again, but in bed until 0600.  After packing, showering we had a great colaziano (breakfast) at a Venetian coffe house.  Caffe latte e briochette again and delissimo.  Back to the hotel to check out and a short walk to the vaporetta in the rain.  Not bad, but a little chilly.  3 stops to Ferrovia (train station) and arrived 1 hour early.  (Kids, Mom apologizes for picking you up late, she is now a stickler on timeliness).  We took the Italo, a new train, to Firenze.  An immaculate train, high speed (up to 300 km/hr) with most comfortable seating.  Bathrooms sparkling clean.  Arrived 2 hora later at 12:00.  Short cab drive to the Bernini hotel.  We are in room 404 which is very nice, but a tad smaller than our last stay here…so what.  Ate and drank lunch at the Gille café at piazza del Repubblica.  Insalade capresse, ravioli un burro e sage sauce; magnifico.  Walked a bit and the storm clouds started to form.  Barely had time to get our gelato, before the rain hit.  Back to the hotel. Mom slept 2.5 hora (Wellon, that is hours in Inglese, sorry, English) whilst I did a bit of work.  Went shopping and a walk about at 1900 and bought GK momentos.  Back to the hotel, our duey drinks, and getting ready for dinner.  Il Paoli is closed tonight, but we will find something suitable.

Hope all is well with you and your families.

We love you all,

Mom and Dad

Booking air travel, making hotel reservations and arranging vacation travel in general has changed completely with the advent of the internet and many people try to be their own travel agents. While you can arrange seemingly most of your travel yourself, you can't do as well as your travel agent in a long run! But for other references, please visit komodoresort.com.

Ciao! By reading a "real-man-who-loves-Italy" journal, I can feel that you had fun. Who doesn't love Italy right? It has the best tasting pizza and pasta in the whole world. I love raviolis a little too much that I can eat it for all my life. We've experienced riding in Italo during our short visit from Venice to Floren and I was surprised how fast it was. The interior is very clean and comfortable too. Surely worth the money we paid. I hope you enjoy your gelato even on this chilly season. Ciao!
